June was here and gone in a whirlwind of garden work... moving daylily plants from one location to another, getting the new herb and cut flower garden ready and planted, and so on and so on... I was grateful to be able to skip off to the beach for few days of rest and relaxation before coming back home to hit the ground running with peak bloom season for the daylily plants arriving here in Northeast Ohio! Thankfully my mom has been coming to the rescue as usual helping with dead-heading the daylily plants (no small task as it takes about three hours at peak bloom time for me to do them alone!)
Sometimes time just goes a little too quickly, don't you agree? In some ways I don't mind as much since I look forward all year to July to arriving and seeing the daylily plants blooming! It is much like having good friends return for a visit... if you are close enough to visit us too you are welcome to come and see them in person! So many beautiful flowers! We grow about 300 daylily varieties with hundreds of other perennials and now a fair amount of annual herbs and edible flowers too!
